Arizona Humane Society - Project Active Duty (Phoenix, AZ) This program allows loving pet owners leaving for a tour of duty to entrust their pets with AHS, providing not only a peace of mind during their deployment, but comfort knowing that when they return, their pet will be waiting for them.
Dogs On Deployment (nationwide) Military members nation-wide confront a multitude of problems during their career. The last problem they want to worry about is what to do with their beloved family pet when it's time for them to deploy. Asking themselves, "What should I do with my dog while I'm on deployment," many service members have limited, to no options for their pets when they have to go overseas. Many owners have to relinquish their pets to shelters when they have nowhere else to go. Dogs On Deployment is a licensed non-profit which aims at becoming a central web-based database for service members to search for individuals or families who are willing to welcome a Dog On Deployment into their home for the length of their owner's deployment.
Guardian Angels for Soldiers' Pet Supporting our military service members, veterans, and their beloved pets to ensure they are reunited with their owners following deployment or emergency hardship.
Military Mascots Site is primarily a resource for helping soldiers who have found animals while deployed. Also lists military pets needing foster homes. Scroll down to see a list of organizations that offer foster homes for military pets.
People/Animals = Companions Together (PACT) Military Foster Program (Philadelphia, PA) PACT works directly with military service members to match their companion animals with appropriate foster homes that will give them the care and love they need while their military owners are deployed. We facilitate the foster home placement via our Military Foster Agreement - a written agreement that outlines the terms of the relationship and protects the interests of all parties involved.
Sundance Pet Resort (Independence, KY) Sundance Pet Resort has joined an alliance of pet kennels from the tri-state area to help save soldier's pets. This coalition's goal is to give military personnel a safe haven for their pet while they are away serving their country. This Military Pet Relief is the first organized effort across the country to unite kennel and pet resort owners with shelters to save military pets' lives. We are donating runs to deploying soldiers free of charge. The pets will be given quality care while the soldier is away, and they'll be waiting, tails wagging, when they return.
